About this Frame
The 500x700mm size is a common standard size for Picture Frames. It will accommodate a 500x700mm print, photograph, certificate, document or artwork..
The Frame is made from Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified Ash. The corners are joined using our superior “Butterfly” joints which are considerably stronger than the underpins used by other frame-makers. The frame is 34mm wide and 21mm wide.
The frame is sanded but otherwise un-finished. If left in its natural state, the Ash will age to a slightly deeper colour. You may like to finish the frame and any wood finish can be used such as stains, varnishes, clear wax or coloured waxes. Limed Ash is very popular and can be achieved with a single application liming wax.
The Under-Mount is Plain Off-White and is made from 1.45mm thick FSC certified board which Conforms to the Fine Art Trade Guild’s “Conservation” Standard.
The Frame is Glazed with 2mm Float Glass. The backboard is 3mm FSC certified MDF held in with Flexi-tabs. D-Rings, Screws and Picture Cord are supplied.

Mount:
The Mount Aperture is 390mm x 590mm. Please ensure that the Mount is able to overlap the paper by 5mm on all sides. The mount margins are 55mm all round of which approx. 50mm is visible, with the remainder going under the rebate.
The Mount is Lightly Textured Off-White (colour 8065). It is made from 1.45mm thick FSC certified board which Conforms to the Fine Art Trade Guild’s “Conservation” Standard.
Print & Fit:
If you choose this option, we will ask you to supply a digital image file of sufficient quality to print at 500x700mm- once you have an order number, you will be able to send it by email, dropbox, wetransfer etc..
We will then print this image out on Canon Semi Gloss 240gsm. FSC® Certified Photo-Paper, using our state of the art Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8400 printer with it’s LUCIA EX 12 Colour Pigment Ink system. Once printed, we bond the printed image to the undermount to prevent any possibility of wrinkling.
After fitting your image into the frame, we seal the back of the frame with brown gum tape and fit the hangings and cord. The finished picture will arrive with you (or whoever you send it to) professionally finished and ready to hang on the wall.
